Half the screen was a keyboard

Rebuilding 18 health-risk profilers for mobile. Reskinning wasn't enough: every dropdown summoned a keyboard or scroll wheel. Replacing them with big tap targets took completion from 27% to 50% and cut time to finish from 6:22 to 2:49.

Every screen exists because a system needed something from a person. As AI gets better at figuring things out on its own, most of those screens stop being necessary. The ones that remain are the ones where a person still needs something from the system: to see what it did, to trust it, to stop it.

I mocked up one of those screens for a travel agent. It asks for my call only when it's spending money or when two of my own rules disagree. Everything else is a log with an undo button. Try the prototype.

Past Work

Translating Whole Foods' national brand system into a single-store build for Hilton Head Island. Coastal shoppers needed cues that this store knew where it was, not a reskinned box. Documented all 15 departments storewide, designed 6+ custom illustrated coastal icons, and delivered a 94-page fabrication set a general contractor could build straight from.
